This two and a half hour training session is designed to introduce European TV journalists to the world of generative AI, focusing on how these tools can be leveraged to enhance journalistic work. The session will begin with an introduction to the concepts and capabilities of generative AI, followed by real-world examples of how AI can be applied in TV journalism. Journalists will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, experimenting with AI tools that can assist in content generation, and audience engagement. The session will conclude with a discussion on the ethical challenges associated with AI in journalism and strategies to mitigate potential risks.

Understand Generative AI: Equip journalists with a foundational understanding of generative AI, its potential, and its limitations. 

Practical Applications: Demonstrate how generative AI can be applied in journalism, particularly in TV broadcasting, including content creation, data analysis, and audience engagement. 

Ethical Considerations: Discuss the ethical implications of using AI in journalism, focusing on bias, misinformation, and transparency. 

Hands-on Experience: Provide journalists with practical, hands-on experience in using generative AI tools that can enhance their daily work. 

Computer with webcam and microphone, good internet connection. This session will be online.

There are 12 places available. Each station can send a maximum of 2 person. Places will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
