The European Audiovisual Observatory takes a stance and makes Tackling the Challenge of Media Literacy of the Audience central topic in its next Warsaw conference on the 8th of June, 2017.
From their press release:
In a world of fake news, hashtags and #badbuzz, how can we navigate safely through the tsunami of information coming at us in the digital media landscape? And how can we ensure that everyone has sufficient media skills to keep head above water in the digital ocean? Promoting media literacy is a major goal of the European institutions and national governments throughout Europe. The European Audiovisual Observatory, part of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, will be focusing on media literacy in Europe during its Warsaw conference next month. This free public conference is organised under this year’s Polish Presidency of the Observatory, represented by the Polish National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT). It will take place on 8 June 2017, from 14.00-17.00, at Warsaw’s Novotel Centrum.
