Data journalism is the fastest growing area of our industry. This one-day workshop run by the BBC and SVT will look at the developing trends in data journalism, give some practical training and create an opportunity to share experiences and knowledge from some of the world leaders in the field.

The workshop is aimed at reporters / producers and editors / managers.

• Reporters and producers will be able to learn some of the skills necessary to exploit the vast amount of data becoming publicly available across the world and turn it into original journalism. There will also be guidance on how to continue developing research and coding skills.
• Editors and managers will hear from leading exponents of data journalism from the BBC, SVT and a range of outside organisations.

Venue 
The BBC News headquarters in central London, Portland Place, London W1A 1AA . 

Timetable
Delegates are expected to arrive in London on Thursday, October 20th.

The workshop starts at 9.00 am and runs until 18.00 on Friday 21st February. Over lunch, a guided tour of the newsroom and the studios will be arranged.

Dinner will be provided on Friday evening at 19.30.
Planned departure: Saturday, October 22nd.

The workshop is free of charge, but delegates must pay for their own travel and accommodation.
