CIRCOM Regional attended the Annual Conference of the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA). The conference took place from 13th-14th November 2009 at Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich, Germany.
Amongst others, the event focused on future multi-search functions. The Pharos-Team of CIRCOM Regional, presented the PHAROS project to the conference participants and outlined the related trial that will be conducted at Bayerischer Rundfunk.
In this trial journalists and professionals will put the PHAROS platform to the acid test by identifying the future value of innovative technologies like speech-to-text and face recognition in the daily business of professional broadcasters.
The results of this experiment will be presented at the 28th CIRCOM Regional Annual Conference in Malta.
The International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives was established in 1969 in Amsterdam to act as a medium for international co-operation between archives that preserve recorded sound and audiovisual documents. Additional information about IASA is available on http://www.iasa-online.de/
