Gareth Price, who recently passed away at the age of 78, was a great friend and supporter of CIRCOM.
A former Controller of BBC Wales, Gareth left the BBC to become the Director of the Thomson Foundation in Cardiff. During his early days with the Thomson Foundation he recognised the important work that was taking place within CIRCOM and supported them on their first major journalism training workshop held in Iasi, Romania in 1994.
From 2001 to 2012, the Thomson Foundation took over the project management of CIRCOM training. During this period of immense change in broadcast journalism Gareth was instrumental in ensuring that the best and most relevant training was delivered for the benefit of CIRCOM members. Gareth was extremely popular and made many friends within CIRCOM.
He will always be remembered for his calm approach, generosity and the wealth of knowledge he gave when it came to management and journalism training within CIRCOM.
He will be greatly missed and our thoughts and sincere condolences are with his family at this sad time.
